Throughout our history Gulbrandsen has been fully committed to sustainability. We are committed to focus our resources on the UN Sustainable Development Goals where we can make the greatest contribution and we understand our future depends on it.
A Holistic Approach to Sustainability
Education enables upward socioeconomic mobility and is a key to escaping poverty. Over the past decade, major progress was made towards increasing access to education and school enrollment rates at all levels, particularly for girls.
We are very proud to have contributed to this UN Goal by supporting the Gulbrandsen School for Girls in our local community
Health & Well-being
Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being at all ages is essential to sustainable development. Currently, the COVID-19 crisis is spreading human suffering, destabilizing the global economy and upending the lives of our communities. Gulbrandsen has acted quickly to distribute sanitizing supplies, masks and provided relief and support to our communities to help fight the spread of COVID-19.
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Inclusive and sustainable industrialization, together with innovation and infrastructure, can unleash dynamic and competitive economic forces that generate employment and income. Gulbrandsen has supported our local communities with building projects to improve the quality of life and economic success of our surroundings…it is our passion.
Sustainable Communities and Infrastructure
Rapid urbanization is resulting in a growing number of slum dwellers, inadequate and overburdened infrastructure and services (such as waste collection and water and sanitation systems, roads and transport), worsening air pollution and unplanned urban sprawl. We at Gulbrandsen are fully dedicated to civil projects that support clean drinking water and sanitation for those in need.
Life on Land
Nature is critical to our survival: nature provides us with our oxygen, regulates our weather patterns, pollinates our crops, produces our food, feed and fibre. But it is under increasing stress. Human activity has altered almost 75 percent of the earth’s surface, squeezing wildlife and nature into an ever-smaller corner of the planet. Gulbrandsen is dedicated to numerous planting projects both in our community and at our workplace to help reverse these effects.
